School Vision Statement

 

We, the members of Valley View Elementary School, through shared decision-making will create unique and memorable experiences and learning opportunities that will help develop responsible citizens and instill enthusiasm for lifelong learning. In order to achieve our goal, we embrace these core values and beliefs, which are the foundation of our common efforts.

 

 

 

Learning – We believe that a quality program along with high parent and teacher expectations for student achievement is a major factor in all students reaching their full potential for academic success. As educators, we will strive to be knowledgeable of the California Standards and informed of the different learning styles of our students so that we might diligently incorporate these into our daily lessons. We believe for optimum student learning to take place, all students need to feel valued and safe in a nurturing classroom environment. As teachers, we will aim to be positive role models in our classrooms and community, assisting young learners to become literate adult citizens, able to govern themselves wisely, not just for their own personal gain but to serve their family, fellow man and country.

 

 

 

Respect – We will provide a respectful environment for students, staff, and parents, which incorporates caring, and integrity for all individual cultures. We will encourage the concept of honor. Each person will be regarded for his/her own individuality.

 

 

 

Community – We will work in partnership with the home and community to provide all students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to become life long learners. We will encourage and create positive community – school partnerships in order to foster a strong foundation for our children to become productive, responsible citizens.

 

 

 

Communication – We believe that clear communication is the foundation for academic and social success in the classroom, the school and the community. Communication is a means to encourage and ensure that students meet the high expectations set forth by Valley View Elementary School. The positive and professional demeanor amongst parents, teachers, and staff, attained through trust, support and teamwork, furthers the attainment of these goals. This ongoing openness between school and home will only reinforce the success of our students and in turn, our community.

 

 

 

Accountability – We, the members of the Valley View teaching staff, believe that in order to be effective we must be accountable through clear and measurable goals, provide a safe and orderly environment through strong instructional leadership. We will have high expectations for student performance through frequent monitoring of student progress.
